Ella Mae Reece was born on November 11, 1930 in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Elza and Rita Thomas.
Ella Mae attended school in St. Petersburg Florida, where she met and married Amos Reece Sr. They had five children: Amy Liburd, Zachary "Skeeter" Reece (Katherine Reece), Beverly Butler (David Butler), Michael Reece and Amos Reece Jr. (Kecia Dalton-Reece). They relocated to New York City, where Ella Mae worked in the public school system for 35 years until her retirement.
She was a fun, loving and nurturing person to all that met and knew her. She loved her family, enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, and she was always the life of the party, "Goodtime." She will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her brother Elza Thomas, Mother Rita Forbes, son Michael Reece, and loving husband Amos Reece Sr.
Ella Mae entered the gates of heaven on May 12th, 2020.
She leaves to carry on her legacy and great wonderful memories, her four children: daughters, Amy Liburd, Beverly Butler, and sons, Zachary Reece, Amos Reece Jr. 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. One sister-in-law, Annie Mae Seay; Two brothers-in-law, Abram and Clifford Reece, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
